"Found New Hardware Wizard" is high

This may be more of a software issue so apologies if it is so.

For no apparent reason, when I boot to the desktop, the “Found New Hardware Wizard” pops up and tells me that it has detected a new infrared device.

The only problem is that I don’t have any infrared devices and no other new devices either.

How can I tell it to go away or show the wizard that it’s stupid?

The IrDA controller in BIOS might be enabled is my first guess. I don’t know what motherboard you have, but try checking under Integrated Peripherals for it.

Go into device manager and disable any infra red devices it detected. That should keep it from poppin up every time.
