ok recently i just gotten a windows xp and i want to set it up to the internet thru ethernet… i plug it in the ethernet it says then im sending but not receiving, the ethernet in enabled, can any one help me, yes i configed ip,mask, and gateway.. but i still cant connect to the internet… before it was posible by luck that i would connect to the internet…
What type of internet connection are you using – DSL, cable, other? Is it DHCP, static, or PPPoE? Also, can you try a different network cable?

Try a different cable, yours could be damaged.
its not damaged cause i can use alright on my mac computer… i just want to use the internet on windows to do things i cant do on mac

Are you situated behind a router, or is it a direct connection to the Internet? Also, what version of Windows is that system running?
Did you use the software that came with your modem to configure it?
no everytime i try it wont go thru :ff: but still i didnt use the software on my mac and it still worked…

its running windows xp home edition, ithink its most likely a router
