Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

Guess what? WGA might be on the verge of getting even messier. In fact, one report claims WGA is about to become a Windows “kill switch” – and when I asked Microsoft for an on-the-record response, they refused to deny it.

Yup, “you have 30 days to install our WGA program, or else we will disable your Operating System”!

Thank :swear: I use Linux

Oh well, thats reason number 1027 to switch to Linux.

That report seems to go against what MS are saying to CNET.

Would you bet against it, given Microsoft’s history?

i’m trying to not use MS stuff but Mandriva and me have our heads locked together in battle

What does the “update” actually do? I have avoided downloading it so far.

well, its suppose to keep your software (XP) up to date, but in reality it replaces older buggy software with newer (even more buggy) software, in theory update is a good idea, but not with MS software

Note: Allan87 is an MS lover.

That is all.

What makes you think that???

I know Allan. He’s the guys who hosts my sites. (and I met him on a summer school last year for people who had good grades hehe) :good:

[ot]I’ve had many many debates with him over the whole MS vs Linux, FF vs IE situations, 's hard to convert those who are completely brainwashed :P[/ot]

well everyone is entitled to their opinion, its just that IMO MS both sucks and blows

How can Microsoft even check if you have wga installed? How will they know who has it and who doesn’t?

If you dont install it Windows Update may just stop functioning…

I haven’t had windows update since i installed windows. i never use it, or its crappy firewall. Windows already comes with tons of crap i don’t need it downloading more crap while i’m away.
