Theres a good article on good and cheap Xeon mobos.
Yes Windows will support dual CPUs.
Is there any good advantages on building a computer with dual Xeon CPU instead of P4 CPU. Please Reply
Thank You
servers rock wit dual x’s.. lots of ram and lots of hd space and speed ![]()
gaming wise id rather spend the the loot on a speedier amd..
Yea if you’re building for gaming then there is no reason to get Xenons, they aren’t very good with gaming anyway. Save your money for an Athlon 64 FX and SLI video cards.
That all depends on usage.
everyday use? No its not worth it at all. You’re better off with an Athlon64 unless your heavy video editing, in which case a P4 3.4GHz or more will also do.
servers? Yes thats what they’re designed for and will work well. But remember you also have the option of an AMD Opteron CPU aswell.
Gaming there is no point, most games are not multi-threaded properly and Athlon64s are much better for gaming.
Thanks for the help I am going to stick with the single CPU.
Good idea. Do you know what CPU that will be yet?
most of us would recommend an athlon 64 or X2 though in a way that goes against what you just said before haha, at least an amd product, me no like intel
Yea. Look at it this way:
AMD=Good
Intel=Bad
or for the analytical people out there:
AMD is to awesome as Intel is to
A. awesomer
B. not as awesome
C. equal
D. sucky
AMD-perfect
Intel-self commercializing loss of money
Its all a little like:
Windows=bloatware bugginess that I have to use because everyone else does
Linux=non-bloatware non-bugginess that I use because it is a bazillion times better than Windows
also AMD has lots better overclocking and life.
AMD + Linux + Nvidia = one hot threesome
Or try this, AMD+Linux+ATI= another hot threesome.
Ati too max, ati too haha
