New UI and things that are gone

Things that I’ve noticed, are gone w/ the new UI set up and all:

  1. Country of Origin flag;
  2. My Computer dropdown;
  3. Thanks counter.

Sniper has upgraded HWF to vBulletin 4 recently, and most features and plugins need to be rebuilt/upgraded and all template modifications need to be done from scratch. This can take quite some time to complete. The features you mention might or might not return, this is all Sniper’s choice :slight_smile:

That’s quite a bummer if all the customizations went south… anyway, I did like these, though. Just putting it out there.

Not sure i like this new look, When answering posts they need to be separated, It looks like it all just runs together…Also it looks too white..

The posts are separated but its very subtle, I’ve tested on it on multiple monitors to make sure it was visible.

I’d be more than willing to change it if more users agree.

Maybe the grey border around each post should be a bit darker.

I agree. I think it might make things easier to see. Otherwise, i’m very happy with the new look. I think it looks fresh and more compact than the previous UI. My avatar looks a bit pixelated though lol but thats an easy fix.

As to the ranking system, i’ll always prefer the old system we had just before the switch happened in 08’. It was the thanking system that edijs mentioned i think but not the one before this new one. The one where your thanks were showed under your avatar. Anyway, this trophy system seems nice too and is worth a shot.

[FONT=arial]I really miss the My Computer dropdown… that’s quite useful as most users do not create a signature with their computer specs. Since this is hardwareforums after all. C’mon :D[/FONT]
