No display.

Hi, I have an old Aspen2 mobo, Slot A, removed from an old Compaq. aka SD11.

I am having trouble getting this sucker to boot. I cannot get a display on a monitor, with several different (tested good) graphics cards. I put a POST card in there and got a number 38.

Does anyone have any ideas?

your mobo is actually manufactured by FIC & you can only use AGP X2 grx cardsmake sure the grx card is inserted firmly & correctly, remove & reinsert it to ensure it is inserted correctly

& is the monitor receiving power

Edit: just noticed the POST card error code, could you possibly check the post card manufacturer website

Edit who manufactured the post card you used ?

This is the card that came with the computer, so I am sure its compatible. The monitor is not getting power either.

try a known working power lead and check the fuse

Re-install your current windows…

How would they do this without getting past the POST?

Do you actually read threads here? Or do you just dump whatever suggestion you feel like? Half the posts you’ve made don’t make sense. Reinstalling Windows is the last thing you want to try…at least if you’re troubleshooting, and especially, as it’s already been pointed out, if the system doesn’t POST.

Bravo! Been getting really annoyed with all these one-liners post whoring
