That’s one I can’t remember, and while I want to say yes, I’m not entirely sure. I think you’ll find a lot of helpful info over at 2CPU’s forums.
Now, for the RAM, you’ll need to get Registered DDR.
While you don’t need an E-ATX motherboard, due to features that most server boards have, it’s almost required. Asus, Iwill, SuperMicro, and Tyan tend to come to mind first thing, and I know Asus and Iwill have produced dual Xeon boards in a regular ATX formfactor board. Tyan may have as well, but don’t quote me. Again, there’s a lot of info over at 2CPU. The owner, Hooz, is one of the best folks I’ve run into online.

Thanks for the reply, i have bought a asus pch-dl motherboard but it wont fit in the 1u case.
There might be the odd ATX board out there that’s 1u, but I don’t think there’s any that are dual CPU. You’re probably gonna have to look at SuperMicro, Tyan or Intel. Iwill may have some, but I’m not too sure on them. SuperMicro and Tyan pretty much own the retail server board market last I knew.
