Hello,
Im looking for a basic TV card for a friends PC. It will only be used to watch TV whilst using a treadmill to exercise so there is no need for recording or anything fancy. There is an aerial socket about 6 feet from the PC which I guess should be able to supply a decent signal strength for the card.
I know nothing about TV cards so any advice is welcome 
Are you looking for an analog or digital freeview TV card?
In either case, you should check out Hauppauge’s range of TV cards. They’ve got USB and internal PCI cards available
I hadn’t really thought about analog or digital, but it makes sense to get a digital card. It’ll be a PCI card as the machine is never moved and they’re cheaper I think. I’ve looked at the hauppage site and found this :-

Ah yes, I own the Hauppauge Nova-T PCI . It’s a good card, probably the most supported card available. Good price, performance and features.
Only snagg is the including software is pretty poor. But needn’t worry, there are plenty of free 3rd party applications you can use with the Nova-T.
