Testing hardware

hi guys i dont know but i know how to change the hardware so here a question i need to be answered

how can you test motherboard

There is no direct way of testing a motherboard without swapping out the other components to rule them out. Or you can just try a different motherboard.

For stability? You just have to connect everything and see if it functions properly:) If you run into problems you try ruling out certain components one at a time. Of course the only drawback is you have to have spare components around that you know are okay so you can swap them in to see what is really the problem.

or to see how it racks up to other motherboards you can do some mobo/cpu intensive tasks, but these things are often already done

tomshardware.com has alot of benchmarks like this

ok thank you ok heres another lol ok this might be confusing

if my cd drive is not working but everything else would i test the cd drive to another computer?

Sure try it. Or test a working cd drive on the setup you’re working on.

and that would be the same for dvd floppy disk and hard drive?

Yes. Basically, it’s a process of elimination. Temporarily changing out parts to help try and determine what the bad one(s) are.

how would you know if the processer is not working?

Change the processor with another compatible type. But if it is your CPU then your PC isn’t likely to work, if at all with severe stability issues.

the most often problems are with RAM/GPU/ and hard disks
