Hi, as a new user to Pc’s I am reliant on your expertise. I have just bought a LCD Tv with a DVI - HDMI connection and need to connect my Pc through it to save on space. The video card I have the moment is a NVIDIA GeFORCE FX 5200, and I have seen the GeFORCE FX5500 256MB DDR AGP DVI VO for £41.11, and it states it has DVI for monitor support. Firstly is this card any good? and will it be easy enough to just swop the cards over?
What do you plan on doing with the card? gaming? general use, video/picture editing? If it’s just general use then that card will be fine, if you want to game and do more advanced more graphic intensive tasks then a slightly better card might be good.
Yes its pretty easy as long as you have the correct slot in your motherboard (AGP 8x). If I’m talking about the same DVI then yes it does have a DVI port.
yeah when you get the new one, remove old drivers for your current FX5200, turn off computer (and unplug), change cards, plug back in, power on and install new drivers.
