is it actually possible to degrade your computer when you format it so you start on win2000 not say xp what it came like when i bought it from the shop? if so can anyone tell me how?

Yes. If you just want to install Win2k, backup (if you have anything you want to save), and then restart the system with the Win2k disc in your CD/DVD drive. Follow the instructions, and reformat the drive you want to install it on. If you want to be able to boot between the OS’s, make sure you have a 4GB harddrive or partiton set aside and install Win2k on that.
