Wireless Card For Laptop [PCMCIA]: Linux

[COLOR=“Red”]EDIT: Thers seems to be a lack of replys… any advice wanted! (as i at least want a wirlesss card that is well supported under linux!)

hello again, My ebay laptop should arrive tomorow  but it doesnt have wireless :frowning:

I Intend to use this laptop for ‘audits’ of wireless and wireless networks (with applications such as Airsnort). [and its must be handy to have a computer in your bag! :P]

Im looking for a Beefy wireless card that will work with linux (The laptop has a SUSE install on it, i doubt i will change it* ). by beafy i mean:

Powerfull (signal power, in mw)
Nice big atenna (again, i want a big range)
detachable attena (storage / attaching a yagi) << EDIT, this is a prefferance as it is possible to modift most cards (to remove antenna / add antenna socket)

Those are the simple things, but its the chipset i have no idear about! (allthough i have heard alot about Prism2). what should i be looking at?

any comments/suggestions or anything usefull welcome!

*i might dual boot with a hdd install of Backtrack

I’m not 100% sure which wireless cards work and which ones don’t. However, SuSE’s hardware detection is second to none, so if there is a driver, it should install OK.

As always, you should check with the manufacturer for Linux drivers, or just Google it.
