Hi all, I have 2 questions which I would very much like answering.

1) I want to buy the 7600gt @ 256mb (agp), and its most likely I'll have to get it online for about £106... however, i thought i would go to the pc stores and see what I could get there - it seems that no one is selling the nvidia 7600gt for agp, onlty yhe 7600gs @ 256mb or 512mb.
Now, what I was wandering is, what is the difference between the 2, and how big the difference is?? if there is a big diff between the 2, i will spend the extra to get the 7600gt, however, if there is little or no diff i will have to opt for the 7600gs - i am planing to buy these very soon, so any detailed information is much appreciated.

2) i want to get an xbox360 and since i do not have an hdtv i would like to play it through my lcd pc monitor. me and my frends have had lengthy debates on how this would work - some say i will need a hub like box to connect the 360 to, and then to the monitor, while others say if i get the right cables i can connect straight to the monitor, and some say i can connect it through my pc.
I was just wandering if anyone knew how i would go about this?

THANKS very much to any help received :D

Anyway, in response to your questions:

1) the 7600GT and GS are essentially the same card as far as I'm aware, they use different memory. The GT uses GDDR3 memory and the GS uses DDR2 - the GT is a great card for the money, although it does depend on how much of a price difference there is between the cards you're looking at. The GT has higher clockspeeds than the GS as well.

2) Look for a VGA / DVI -> (whatever output the XBOX uses) converter. Usually you can find something on Google. I'm not sure exactly what output the XBOX uses so I can't let you know what to get.

Hope that helps a bit.

Yeh, I looked about, and managed to find some comparisons between the 2 cards - the GT is considerably better and since the price difference is a mere £20 I might as well buy the GT.

Righteo... so I will need to have some kind of converter/hub type thingy... interesting. you wouldn't happen to know roughly how much these things cost?

Thanks for the help. much appreciated :D

Errm well what is the output that the XBOX uses? I'm not totally sure tbh.

Some converters cost more as they have electronics involved for changing the signal(s), others are merely just to change the type of connection and so are considerably cheaper.

I am not quite sure what ouput cables the 360 uses, but on my Xbox I used to use the red, yellow and white cables to connect to my tv ( i have never tried to connect to a monitor b4). Also I used to use scart cables/plugs sometimes.
I think the 360 has an HDTV output cable... here is a link to some of the cables... i am not sure which one i would need to connect to my pc monitor:
