Thanks for ruining the fun harrack anyways... just for kicks and giggles, running bone stock http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2771420
Yes, but it does aggrivate me when someone(especially a moderator) has to say something dumb like Take alittle advice harrack......it'll help you in life and atleast keep more members at this forum. Get your jealosy in check so anyway....I'm a full time Respiratory Therapist, been at it for 13years. I have a house, truck and two kids... to support my PC hobby I do a ton of side jobs and do lots of buying and selling. In other words, I WORK for what I have... Now, Extreme he is a spoiled rich kid....hehehe no, really he's a great guy who got lots going for him....incl a talent with "dry ice"
I'm still a kid, but my toys have changed... It's safe to say your rig pwns my main box, since I get about that same score in 3DMark01. I'm leery of 3dMark03 because of how companies place so much value on it. I'm sure I'll make the jump to A64 eventually...and then we'll all be waiting for A128.
That might not have been the right way of saying that his post was completely useless, but exactly because I am a mod (even though not a mod of this forum), it is my duty to try and keep him on the right track. I feel I had the right to post my opinion on this, and if one or some or all of the other mods/admins here feel like I was out of line, they will tell me. Like I said, the way I said it might not have been the right one, but I still had to do something, and this is undeniable, you even confirmed it. I am not jealous of his computer, even though I'd really like to have something that comes close to his (like everyone here I suppose), but what motivated me in answering to him is that I do not feel like he has the right to piss on everyone else because he has much better scores than everyone in here. I evaluated the possibility that he might have been joking, but since he is new here, and since there is absolutely nothing in his post that can make me think, or other people that do not know him, that he was in fact joking, that is why I did not take it as a joke. Now, had it been BigB or Sniper or Anti-Trend that posted this, I would have reacted differently since I know them well enough to know they are not competitive enough, as far as benchmarks go, to feel superior (as a person) because of their score. As you can see, it has nothing to do with jealousy or him working for what he has (I'm sure he does). It has to do with respect. I actually do work, and a lot if you must know. I go to college full-time as well as working 32 hours a week at night which gives me, on an average day, 4 hours of sleep each day at the most. And this is sometimes 2x2 hours, not an actual block of 4 hours of sleep. The reason why I am writing a ridiculous amount of paragraphs to explain such a simple thing is to make things clear, because I want you to understand what is behind my previous post, because you obviously did not understand. Part of it because you took it personal (I guess), and part of it because I chose the wrong words to express myself in the first place. I sincerely hope that this is the end of this story.
Pain, there's no reason for flames, especially directed towards moderators. Harrack52 is an intelligent and levelheaded individual who is not quick to post nonsense, which is very uncommon on public forums such as this one. Not only that, but reading over his previous post (which you chose to disparage), I actually agree with him: anybody with money and brains can get a high score. If you think it's by magic, or sheer l337 skill, think again. Synthetic benchmarks were originally intended to give one an idea of how well hardware will perform in the actual software one uses on a daily basis. Whether that's games or CAD software, the benchmarks are a means, not an end. If you want to put a great deal of emphasis on synthetic benchmarks, that's most decidedly your business. However, Harrack52 is just as entitled to his opinion as you are to yours. -AT
Shiiiiiiii...This was just a joke directed towards PaiN. He and are are buds and I was being sarcastic. DID YOU SEE HIS FRIGGIN SCORES?! Im sorry for what I caused
Ok...I did take harrack's comment as a flame toward myself and Extreme. Ex and I meet at ClubOC....and at that forum anyone who does an upgrade....has to throw it in everyone's face and the competitive benchmarking was\is never-ending its fantastic motivation too keep going....but it was always friendly :chk:....we chushed fanboyism in favor of fun.
I just got my new Radeon 9600XT and i had to see how it scored on 3DMark2001SE. *Drum roll*... 11000! Hurrah! That's with stock speeds on everything...(well the rams timings are down, but that's it) I'm going to OC my CPU and see if it makes much of a difference. ~temporal~
Guess I should post my scores. I forgot too... 3dmark03 Card clocked at 445/1.02 12429 - http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2780395 3dmark01 Card clocked at 445/1.02 22422 - http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7973239 Overall, not too bad
Ok, I overclocked my beast of a CPU to 2.83 Ghz (18x157) and I pulled a 12380. Not to bad eh? Well, considering my old scores with my POWERCOLOR 9000 pro, which were around 7000. Does that seem right for my setup? I think it does, but i'm not as experienced as all of you. ~temporal~
It sounds about right. My 2.4B is a little over 3.1GHz and I've got it on Abit's IS7-E and the memory pretty tweaked out and doing around 14,500 with a GF4 Ti4600. In DX8, I believe the 9600's are comparable to the Ti4600's, but I'm pretty sure your score wipes the floor in '03. It seems like most 2.4's can hit 3GHz most of the time, so you can probably get a little more OC out of that chip. The only thing that might hinder you is the lack of a locked PCI and AGP bus on the i845 chipset your mobo has. Oh, yeah, nice scores, Extreme. :good:
well i am VERY pleased with my new card.. with everything at stock on my computer i am getting 15,667 333mhz fsb 1.83ghz barton e.t.c.. not bad eh? i'll do a 3dmark03 test soon..
