    dual processors don't mean twice the speed, just they can do more work per cycle.

    Hey does that mean HT in pentium 4 processors can be bad, becouse HT makes applications think that you have 2 processors right?

    So in effect, you can do 2 things at once?

    it doesn't make the machine think you have two processors, but close. HT is a multi-threaded processor that can only be used to it's full potential by software that is allowed to execute on mutiple threads across one processor. Sort of like two processors, but in a way it's not the full benefit of having two.

    do you know any applications that makes full use of HT?
