Hi all

Im having issues with this hardware firstly I believe there is nothing wrong with the device but I dont understand how to use it in windows

The instructions provided are in all honesty laughable the english translation is terrible

The product came with no driver disk but searching on the web I found links that claim they are drivers for the camera I tried installing these and found a program called "amcap", when I try to run it though I get this message "sorry you have no video capture hardware" the auto hardware wizard reports it has found a new device and when I look in device manager it informs me that no drivers are installed for the device and letting the "found new hardware wizard" search on the web produces no results

When I asked the supplier about this he informs me the camera does not need a driver yet the device shows up in device manager as no drivers have been installed

It also shows up in "my computer" as "removeable disk" but exploring here and running program etc doesnt seem to help

SO I need some answers/solutions plz firstly does the camera NEED drivers or not, If yes anyone know a url where I can dload them from and if not how do I use the camera to make/store files in windows

thanks for reading and giving me any help advice

cheers

My os system is windows xp x64

FWIW I suspect this is better nailed to a piece of wood and mounted on the wall marked good ideas at the time. XP should be able to find a driver itself, although it's possible this is much older than you believe - so it might be looking for a Win98 driver - ie XP is a leap too far.
You can get similar cameras still, made into wonderfully small objects (all with terrible optics)=-so it may be better to buy one seen working on a modern OS.
As a last resort, you could try running it off a USB-hub with external power - just in case it taking too much energy and that is causing the faulty operation. I really don't give it much hope, sorry.
