Hi all. After years of spending cash on diapers (not for myself :chk:), I'm finally able to replace my old AMD64 3200+ single core processor.

However I'm not sure if the Athlon II X3 440 is a viable option or not.
It's going to be paired with a 5770 graphics card, an Asus M4A77TD motherboard and 4 gigs of Kingston HyperX Dual Channel RAM (PC3-10600).

I'm not going for a full-out-top-of-the-line gaming rig as you can tell already, but I do want some nice performance regardless.

PS: I'm located in Denmark and hardware is a bit more expensive here. The cheapest AII X3 440 I can find will cost me $110/€85.

    Thanks!

Yes, that will work fine for gaming. Long ago, like back in the early 90's and before, the CPU played a much greater role in computer performance than it does today. Sure, it's still important to have a decent CPU, but it's no longer the end-all requirement for gaming.

Yeah, diapers eat up the fun fund.

I agree that the x3 will be good enough, especially if you go there and up the MHz of the cores a little ;)
