ATi mishap in the registry, help!!

well, as the title states, I'm having a mishap in the registry with ATi stuff. I have attached a screenshot of me trying to get a Radeon 7000 64MB PCI to install.

S3 is my onboard graphics I am limited to, also an nVidia card if I had one, they both work perfectly, but any ATi card I pop in, doesnt work, and I get this error message when I try to set it up in the control panel (which is the only place I can do it)

I should clarify, I do have an nVidia GeForce MX440, but it is in my brothers machine, I borrowed it to test my AGP slot, which it worked perfectly. I know the PCI slot isnt blown becuase I have tried my audigy 2 in there and it works fine

try installing to latest drivers for the ati card. if you can find them

Well, what you can do is disable the S3 video in BIOS.
The other thing to try is put the Radeon 7000 in a different PCI slot and see if that helps.

yeh, you mightl need to disable the onboard graphics card, then install the ATI card, I'm not sure but you might need to remove the drivers for the onboard graphics card is well!

yes, removing onboard drivers, disabling onboard, and moving to a diferent pci slot then installing the current ati drivers should fix it, let us know how it goes

onboard graphics can sometimes be surprisingly good. My TridentBlade3d chip holds its own in UT.

hahahahahA! my onboard counldnt even hold above 20 fps on any half life mod. It also depends on how much shared ram it has
