I know about Maya and Photoshop, but what other programs are amazing at doing these kinds of jobs?

photoshop 7, photoshop cs, photoshop cs2...well, adobe owns the design front.

the GIMP is rumoured to be very good for free, but I'm sticking with adobe.

cinema4d is an awesome program, but beyond me tbh, no idea how to work it.

    3dmaxs is also excellent
