Built In Card Reader Query

My Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop has a built in secure digital I/O slot (memory card reader) but when I insert my mmc memory card from my Nokia 6230 camera phone I can't find the images that are on the memory card to transfer onto my hard drive?
What am I not doing, or where do I need to look???
....any advice would be much appreciated
 
are you sure they're on the memory card and not stored on the phone's memory? I know with my 6260 I can just select the right folder and copy/cut/paste files to and from them....are the folders hidden/protected do you know?
 
Thanks for the info but the images are definitely on the removeable memory card and as far as I'm aware the folders are not hidden/protected???

No, I've only got the one SD card, I'll have to borrow a mate's card to see if I can access other cards?
