Buying new graphics card

Sorry for another thread like this but I'm looking to spend around £150 on a new graphics card. Any recommendations?

Physical Memory : 1024 MB (1 x 1024 DDR2-SDRAM )

well, thats a decent amount of money. Could save a tiny bit and get the new 8800 gt, the cheapest one, thats probably your best bet. I might be wrong but thats 150 pounds right
 
Where's the best place to buy it from online? I basically just want a card that will last me a good few months and play games like Oblivion on high(ish) settings if possible...
 
yeah, lol, if you want to run oblivion stuff on high then your going to need a high en graphic card. Yeah the best place to get it would be an online retailer.
 
its the best for your money rate now, there nothing more to it than that, would i recommend it, not really, i would say save you money and take the next step up, or wait and see what ATI comes out with. But it will perform better than any 7 series nvidia card and is a very good deal.
 
One thing that does concern me is all the talk of needing a good enough power supply. How do I find out my power supply and what will I need for a newer card?
 
Well I've done some "research" and my psu is only 300 and it seems I'll need a lot more so I've got to splash out on a new psu as well :(
 
Honesty, that is the way it works, and even then, 300w is a little low for any higher end graphics card, even if its not in the 8series
 
Can somebody recommend me a PSU? I did read B's thread but there's so much to take in, especially when you're a complete novice on the subject.
