Cant oc my 6200oc

When I try to overclock my Nvidia Geforce 6200oc(BFG) my comp just freezes up and I have to turn it off manually. I dont expect it to overclock much but I just want a lettle bit more power. Am I missing something?

Cards like that one are pre-overclocked. The manufacturer has already increased the clock speeds almsot as far as it can go so you can't ask for any more.

That is what I had assumed but then I thought, why would they give me the option to overclock if I couldnt? Still dont have that answer but I now at least I know to stop trying to overclock it. thx addis

Why give you the option? Anything that has a clock can be overclocked. BFG only has to warranty their pre-OC'd cards at whatever clockspeed they decide to ship them with. The end user is not prevented from overclocking outside of this.
