I have a toshiba-samsung ts-h493 dvd/cd-rw drive in my computer. It's a standard drive that uses the microsoft driver, no proprietary driver available that I can find.
I hadn't used it in a while; I haven't had time for my games. I went to try to rip a cd yesterday, and it never popped up in itunes. so i went to the drive in my computer, and it ejected the tray and said to insert a disc!
i tried a few other discs, same issue. so i tried to burn a disc from itunes, same issue. pops out the tray, asks for a disc.
i shut down, checked all the connections (it is sata). everything was fine.
i used device manager to uninstall the drive, and restarted.
i ran the MATS tool from the microsoft web site (i am running vista 32 home premium). It didn't do anything.
nothing has changed! still, it just spits out the disc whenever I try to access the drive! what's going on?
