Celeron D Doesn't OC over 3888Mhz

Hye All,
I am currently possessing a Intel Celeron D 336.
I would like to overclock it to 4000Mhz at the least,
The temperature is stable at 45° Celsius.
Everytime i overclock the Celeron D to 187*21,it still all runs stable and well,but going over the 188 makes it go unstable and Windows also refuses to start up.

I have been able to OC de CPU to more then 4000Mhz before,with stable temperatures at full load,but it has never worked very stable for a longer period of time.
Can anyone help me find the problem?
I can not change the voltage or the multiplier of the CPU.

Thats a 2.8 ghz, I don't think you can overclock that to 4 ghz... I had a 3.8 ghz overclock to 4.57 ghz...I think that would be stretching it abit.

Yeah..But you see overclockers overclocking 3.0Ghz I7's to over 8Ghz..
The only obstacle is temperature..Wich isn't an issue in my situation..So why can't it go over 3.88 ghz?
 
An Intel D336 cpu is a 2.8 ghz processor, and overclocking it to a stable point would be about 3.4 ghz... The I7 is your motherboard, not your cpu..
 
The I7 is the Motherboard and Not the cpu, Your CPU is a Celeron D336 Processor running @2.8ghz.. What Is your motherboards Make and Model ? You might want to look @ a different Processor ? Maybe a dual core...
 
I could not disagree more, the i7 is a cpu. an socket 1366 motherboard is a motherboard supporting an i7 cpu.You are saying i7`s the name of a mobo. And i`m in no need of an dual core cpu atm. All i want is to oc my celeron d to 4ghz. Wich doesnt work so well.. thats why i posted this question.
 
You still have not provided your motherboard make and model ....So your motherboard is an i7 1366 socket ???? make / model ???
 
No,The whole I7- discussion has nothing to do with my motherboard. i was just wondering how professional OC'ers can oc an I7 to 8Ghz and i can't oc my Celeron D to 4Ghz.

My Motherboard is an Asus Asrock 775Twins-HDTV (Not the R2.0)

My CPU is an Intel Celeron D 336 @ 2.8Ghz Standard Supporting DDR2-667 RAM
 
Ok, being a Celeron D 336 2.8 ghz, there is no way you will be able to overclock that cpu to 4 ghz and have it run STABLE...Even if your where able to, it wouldn't last... It would burn it out in just a matter of time...Plus you will not be able to get the speed out of it, like you would a dual core.. (Correction your board is a 775 socket...)

If you want to stick with Pentium D, Then try one of these.. Prescott 3.80 ghz..

These are all 3.80 ghz processors that will work with your motherboard... You could probable get one of these overclocked to about 4.5 to 4.8 safely...
 
I know its a Socket 775 mobo.
But can you please tell me why it would burn out? I got it for a moment @ 4Ghz,even started Windows once at 4Ghz,and the temperature was 60° at full load..Wich isnt so high.
 
It would burn out because you are putting it under allot pressure to its stress points... The more you TRY to overclock to the highest point it will get HOT & UNSTABLE..
I would bring it down to 3.6 or a little lower for Stability.. If you want to get your computer running over 4.0Ghz, then you will need a different Processor..
60 degrees is too high , You really don't want to go over 50 degrees... My computer running a 3.8 ghz cpu, overclocked @ 4.8 ghz ... But i am running a special cooler and the temp is @37 degrees..
