Ok, these are the parts that I am purchasing for the computer I am building.

First of all I want to make sure that all the parts are compatible with each other. Are all of the brands good brands?

The RAM is DDR2 800, should it be DDR2 1066?

Is 2 gigs of RAM enough for gaming and everyday uses?

Is the PSU powerful enough to power everything?

Will it all fit inside of the case?

Will I need a more powerful cooling system? If so, what are some good ones?

This totals up to $928. Budget is $1000 and if need be can go a little bit over
 
Everything looks compatible to me. Whether two gigs of RAM will be enough for you depends on which OS you're going to run on it. If you're planning on running Vista, then no. But if you're running XP you should be fine. I would personally get a higher quality power supply such as Enermax or Seasonic, but what you have would be fine for you, I'm sure. I'm personally not a big fan of Western Digital and recommend Seagate, but again, that's a personal preference. You should buy a couple of extra higher quality fans for your chassis as exhaust fans to ensure a low temperature. And yes, it will fit inside the case.
 
Thanks you for replying. I plan on running XP and I will look into the PSU and HDD. What brand of Fans would you recommend or does it matter and how many would I need?
 
Actually, OCZ makes pretty good PSUs. It should be just fine. This is actually a pretty cookie cutter build that most people are making now a days. As long as everything fits your budget this will be pretty good. There are both upgrades and downgrades that you can do to either save money or boost the performance. As far as exhaust fans go, just check the air movement vs. the noise level. Exhaust fans are easily replacable so I don't really stress them that much. Just remember, the bigger the better. Bigger fans don't have to rotate as fast to move the same amount of air the smaller fans do, that means the bigger the quieter.
 
thanks thanks.. I have found a nice Seagate hdd and I'm probably going to switch it out. I will get some extra fans to go along with it all. I don't know is there anything else anyone has to say about it or is the build something to be proud of?
 
Sure it'll play Crysis, especially since you'll be running XP. It won't play it on highest settings but it's definately a good gaming rig. It's definately pretty close to what I plan on building myself when tax returns come lol. The new Nvidia 9xxx series should be out, so hopefully the 8800GT will be nice and cheap by then lol.
