computer wont read IDE harddrive

okay I have this IDE hard drive that I was gonna try and hook up.. im currently just using a SATA one.. and kinda needed some more space so I figured why not hook up the other HD i have.. but when i have the Sata, and IDE one hooked up at the same time.. it only read one of them.. (the sata one i believe) .. i cant get it to read the IDE hard drive while the other is hooked up.. ive checked the jumpers on it.. ive tried setting it as a master, and slave.. any idea why this happens? i check the bios everytime i hook them up but doesnt seem to be reading them.. nor does it show up in My Computer.. thanks for your help

I read about someone having a similar issue. They pinned the ide drive to master, then they plugged the drive into the end of the IDE cable, not the middle connector and then the BIOS saw it. See if that works for you. If not, if you take out the sata drive, will the BIOS recognize the IDE drive on its own?
 
You can see that he wrote you that his computer can reconized the IDE drive only if the SATA one is unplugged ...
well , i think the better for you is to upload all the files from the IDE HDD to another storage device
and then buy a new SATA HDD and download the files into the new one ,
you don't have any need to use old IDE HDD , because they are doing only but trobles with the new mother boards ...
