Confused, need help... Please...

I have read that the new Nvidia G80 (directX 10 card) will not be released in AGP. IBM, who make nvidias AGP bridge chips have stopped making them as you can see in this link IBM to stop making AGP bridge chip for Nvidia? - Neoseeker News Article. So it looks like the nvidia 7xxx series is the last to be released in AGP. So the chances are that your motherboard wont be able to support DirectX10 cards.

but what if I bought a new motherboard that allowed me to use PCI-E gfx cards rather than AGP???

Yeah thats what we have been saying, if you upgrade now you will still have to go and buy a directX 10 graphics card when they eventually come out. If your dead set on getting a DX 10 card then wait and dont waste your money on upgrading your system twice in 6 months.

ok then, so i guess what i can do is upgrade all the parts of my pc such as motherboard, psu, RAm etc etc, and just keep my gfx card as it is untill dx 10 comes out...
Thanx a lot for the help guys, its been really great :good:
