Cpu Cooling

I've been told that the Q6600 is diffcult to keep cool

and to wait until the new 45nm quads come out later this year.

Also that I should just get a E6600 or E6700 for now.

I was all set to buy the Q6600 and a Zalman 9700 but now I'm unsure.

Can anyone please help with this ?

Maybe someone here at the forum has a Q6600 and has experience with the cooling, thanks.

Also what do you think of the E6850 ?

Will you be overclocking? If not, the stock LGA775 cooler seems to do a good job at cooling monsters like Cedar-Mill and Presler-based Pentium D's, which run very hot, much hotter than Core 2.

What do you do with your system? A quad-core might be overkill depending on what the machine is used for. If you go with regular Core 2, there's a sizeable price jump between the E6600 and E6700 for a piddly performance boost.

The 6850 is a fast chip, but unless you really have a lot of cash to burn or can't sleep without one, the value isn't as good.
