CPU or APU for gaming?

Hi,

I want to replace my current cpu with a new one..
I dont know what is better for me:
This: Phenom II x4 960t 3.0ghz
or: APU A8 3850 2.9ghz

Note that i already have a graphics card: NVIDIA GTX 570

I think the phenom would be a better choice.. but im unsure.. some help?
 
If you have a graphic card already, I don't think you need the APU. Just get a decent CPU and you will be fine. What are the games that you play?
