Display problem

Just started on me about 3 months ago, My monitor will flicker light and dark. Thats about the best way i can describe it, Doesnt do it all the time. If i leave pc down over night when i start back up it does it real bad everytime for about 15 minutes or so. It does it during games, internet sufing or just sitting here. I guess it goes from normal view to darker view. I can still see it just its aggrevating. My specs are Epox 9NDA3, AMD 3200 64bit, 1024 Corsair low latency pc3200 memory, PNY Nvidia 6800 Ultra, 500 watt powersupply. Thanks, Randy

And one other thing, I bought a new monitor, SO thats not it..

Bad assumption. That would be my first suspect. Try plugging another, known-working monitor into the computer and see if it makes a difference. If it's not that then you may have trouble with your power. Make sure the power lead is not damaged and/or has loose wires. If its not those then let me know.

Well i thought power, I checked all plugs inside and outside of pc, video card has 2 power plugs on it, All seemed good. Pulled the power cord from monitor out of surge protector and plugged it directly into wall, Been 3 hours so far and it looks good. This might be the cheapest fix i ever had to do. :good:
 
Hahaha, yea that would be nice. It seems many people have problems with the outlets themselves. The thing that many people don't realize is that one outlet with the one beside it empty cannot give the same amount of power that both working can. I try to plug as little as I can into my power strip mainly because it's a fire hazard but power loss is a problem too.
