DVD/RW drive disappears

Hi, recently my dvd/rw drive suddenly disapeared from my desktop. in device manager it shows the drive but with a yellow exclamation mark next to it. the message says that windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but now cannot find the hardware device.

does anyone know what the problem might be?

What I'd do is go back to your device manager, uninstall the drive, turn off the computer, make sure the cables are plugged in properly. If they are, try other cables and restart.

Windows should redetect the drive on its own.
