enter key on computer wont work

Hi can someone help me out with this from time to time my keyboards enter key doesnt work/ I have to reboot it and then it works again. I dont know if it is the usb port or the ps2 port on the motherboard that is causing this problem, i was going to go out and just buy a new keyboard but after searching on the internet for some solutions i found one other person who had the same problem and she went out and bought a new keyboard and the problem continued, which is why i dont think i should go out and buy a keyboard any help with this would be appreciated

Which port are you using, PS/2 or USB? Try a different USB port.

I switched it to a port on a usb card and then i just tried a suggestion from someone else that said that the problem is with the feb 12 edition of windows update and to run spybot search and destroy who knows its working now but i guarentee not for long
