I currently am looking at the Asus 797-Pro but i am not sure if it is price effectice for this system all and any advice or tips is welcome thanks

Planning to overclock processor? If not, consider Xeon 1231v3. Then cheaper motherboard is OK.

And HDD is slow. Where is SSD?

Do you have a price point you're trying to hit with this build?
Additionally, what features do you need on a motherboard? For example, if you don't plan on using the Wi-Fi, do you really need the PRO model. Asus has quite a few Z97 models if you prefer to stick with them.

The Z97 platform is pretty solid, so it comes down to features and price.

Do you plan on running an SLI'd 970 down the line? If so, the power supply might want to go up to 650W or so.
