Foxconn has recently started coming out with some cheap, yet solid motherboards, and it looks like they're starting to get their feet wet in the CPU cooling biz as well. FastLane Hardware's Justin B. gives the skinny on the P4 version of it.

Viewing this heatsink from the other side, we see that it contains 40 fins, and utilizes the same thin-fin design that has worked well on so many other heatsinks. The heatpipe also spans these fins-- the heat is transferred from the heatpipe (as well as directly from the heatsink base), to the fins, and the heatpipe and fins are cooled off by the opposite-mounted 70mm fan. Nifty idea, eh? We'll see if it works in practice.

While it's not the best heatsink money can buy, it's got a good price and some decent performance. A good heatsink and fan for around $30? Hey, it's worth a peek.
