should have posted it yesterday, any way the offer is still on till the end of today I think. Though currently the servers are very busy all the info here http://info.linspire.com/freespire/
Damn it! Their servers are getting slammed which is to be expected. It says try again later, so i will! Thanks Sniper
yes but you can only use the torrent if you manage to register and place the order, which is what I have just done. Normal download 1198 people in line waiting! Will use the torrent over night!
damn i'm 1215 in line, so what if we want to download at a later time, can we come back some other time and download it?
I can't get to it at all. After I applied the coupon it just gives me that page. Doesn't tell me where i am in the line.
erm...how do i do that? i'm downloading it now and it says its an .iso (which the file from linux is)
Not to highjack the thread, but if you missed the free Linspire promotional most other Linux distros have a 100% free version that's not crippled in any way. Here's a short list: Mandriva 2005 Mandriva 2006 (Beta3) SuSE Kubuntu Ubuntu Knoppix Mepis Vector The above is nowhere near a complete list of free Linux distros, there are literally hundreds more.
yeah i have Mandriva LE2005 but i thought Linspire would be nice, just because you have to pay for it usually and now you dont.
addis keep trying, I'm not sure about posting the link since it is a paid product which you only get free following the above.
Well, half of the distros I listed are commercial distros, which come with nice box, manuals, support, etc. But since they're released under the GNU/GPL license, you can download them for free all the time. Linspire is one of the few distros that doesn't have a strictly for-free version, so they're the exception, not the rule. -AT
I've started downloading it now. I may or may not continue depending on whether i d/l mandriva instead. I just wanted linspire for my non internet enabled pc. (Currently using Damn Small Linux on that).
I got my copy "purchased free" but I have not dowloaded it. I'm not sure I want to mess with it on my laptop...which is the only thing have now. I here there are enoying adds that are not able to be disabled.
Adds? In a Linux distro?!? Eeeewwwww. Yeah, If I was you, I'd just get myself a proper distro. Seriously, it seems Linspire is just trying to be a "better Windows". But you can't out-MS Microsoft, so if you want to try a Unix-like OS there are much better distros out there which are free in every sense of the word. -AT
