Front USB Ports generating noise.

All of a sudden, when I plug something in to my front USB ports, I get all kinds of noises coming out of the speakers.

Examples:
Wacom Tablet: Generates a Hi-Frequency Signal (constantly)
USB Pen: Causes some kind of dialupish sound.

That's all I've tested so far.

Q6600
ASUS P5KC
2GB DDR3
Galaxy 8800Ultra
Windows XP Home.

Hi, I take it your talking about the USB ports on your case? if so, they are connected on the motherboard on a USB header, 2 usb ports to 1 usb header. What I would do is check to see if the TWO ground wires are connected on the USB header, ground (1) and ground (2) check your motherboard manual and it will tell you exactly where they are on the usb header. This could be a reason why your getting noises through your speakers.

my thoughts exactly! check there's no audio connectors on any of the usb prongs, failing that there might be a short - if so check it on any other usb port
