Hey All, Graphics problems again, this time with the old graphics card/cpu/mobo i gave my buddy when i upgraded for pci express. Okay before i get into the problem here are the specs. Graphics card is Msi fx5950 ultra, processor is [email protected] ghz (socket 440 if anyone cares) and the motherboard is an Asus p4p8x. Okay, Here's the problem, similar to what was happening to my 6800GT. In Guild Wars, randomly or triggered, the game shuts down the whole pc. I checked the temps of everything while playing in a window. The cpu was at 40C and the gpu was at 50-60C. However if My friend clicks the Close "X" button on the window, the game restarts his pc. Sometimes this happens randomly throughout gameplay, but definitely when he shuts the game down. Moreover, after it happens, the system restarts 2 times THEN finally starts up again. Most of his components were mine just two weeks ago, and the only difference between his pc and what used to be mine is his power supply, i have no clue what it is cuz i didn't look at it, but i'm pretty sure its generic. I was considering giving him my thermaltake 400W and getting myself a better one IF that was the problem. Has anyone else experienced this issue with guild wars or any game? (He says it also happened to him while opening AOL, guess its not limited to gaming, it never happened to me opening up AOL)
