getting the most fps from my radeon 9600

    i think it could of made the game slower becouse, maybe there was another setting that did not cope will with bumpmapping off.

    could i have overclocked my card too far and could that make the game go slow?

    i dont think it'd make it slow, unstable would be the word for it.

    yeah it would, but if it was too oc'ked it would prob just freeze up or you would get lines all over your screen!

    sometimes in games, like farcry, the game freezes, screen goes black, monitor goes off and on and off and on and off (the light on it), and then it comes bk on and farcry is working perfectly, and as far as i can tell, clock settings did not change, so what could the monitor off and on thing be?

    That could be the GPU overclocked too much as when the RAM is overclocked too much the screen usually fills with lines and the computer locks up!
    Try putting settings back to default and see if it happens again!

    Yea you're buring a hole in your GPU core with those oc's. If you cant get the speeds you want no matter what then maybe you need a new card.

    hey i have a 9600xt and can run gta sa flawlessly without overclocking
