...guess this is right forum,

browsing through a website i found a poster asking why his Far Cry performance was so bad, despite having a decent system.

Some of the replies mentioned a graphics controller and checking it was installed.

How do I check if this graphics controller is installed properly?

Sorry to be vague, but I just heard of this "controller" :swt: ..

Your graphics controller and video card are the same thing! It's merely a synonomous term. In other words, "Does your video card suck? Are its drivers installed incorrectly? If you answered 'yes' to either question, your game performance will be poor!" ;) Since your profile states that you have a 9800 Pro, you should be able to play Far Cry flawlessly. Install DirectX 9.0c, and perhaps give the latest OmegaDrivers a try.

yeah far cry handles fantastically on my rig, which is nice cos that's what i bought it for.
