I Recently bought this monitor and I've got it all hooked up and it says it is supposed to be HD, however it doesn't appear to be looks better than my other monitor but only slightly which could be the difference in this being a LCD. The only thing I've been able to research that would indicate quality loss would be that I have this hooked up with a VGA input rather than HDMI or DVI. But something tells me I won't see that great of a quality change when I do get it hooked up with a DVI input. Correct me if I'm wrong, explain what you can to me if you got any information because I'm getting frustrated, it could be the company that made the monitor however it had great reviews on the website. Below I'll post an actual link to it. Thanks

EDIT:
You know what, I think I figured it out. The HD label does not actually mean anything in terms of image quality. What it is saying is that it is in 16:9 resolution (as opposed to 16:10, for example, which is another popular wide-screen format for LCD's), and 16:9 is the same aspect ratio as the standard in HDTV. For example, see this section of a wikipedia article on the topic. From looking at the specs carefully, you can kind of deduce that because the third bullet says "resolution in 16:9 HD format". But yeah, it's just the same as any other LCD.

Anyway, it should still be a good monitor, it has 1000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response ratio, both good stats.

Also, I do believe that there should be a slight difference in quality when you plug it in through the DVI. I'm not at all sure on that, though.

"1920 x 1080 maximum resolution in 16:9 HD format"

Do you have the resolution set at 1920x1080 which is its native resolution?
