Well, I am going to hard wire a portion of my house, as it is far more economical than buying a MIMO router and MIMO NIC cards. I have already ordered all of the parts I need but I want a second opinion as I can always return/cancel stuff. I am hoping that somebody with wire pulling or just general hard wiring experience (I don't mean running a patch cable form your router to your computer, I mean making bulk cable into patch and running wire) will look this over and make sure I have everything I need. I intend to run the wire from my router through the wall and into an exterior closet. I am putting a switch in the closet so I only have to run 1 line through the wall. Then I am going to run a trench to the rooms where I want connections and run back in through the wall and put in a wall socket. I made sure to get outdoor rated Cat5e cable so don't worry. I will make a quick list of the stuff I bought.
-1000' bulk CMX rated outdoor Cat5e
-50 Pk modular RJ-45 connectors
-Linksys 5 Port Switch
-2 RJ-45 Wall Sockets
-2 RJ-45 Wallplates
-RJ-45 Crimp/Strip/Cut all-n-1 tool
I didn't list junction boxes as I haven't bought them yet, I intend to buy them at a hardware store when the rest of the stuff gets here. I have also attached a diagram of what my network should look like when all of this is done. As a kind of side note, I will mention why I am running the cable around the house as opposed to through it. My house is 1 floor, with no crawlspace above or below the house, and I do not have a basemeny. I looked at all of my other possible options and this is the only one that seemed feasble, so it is what I am doing.
