Ive had a Tagan PSU for 3 years now originally cost me £90 and if I remember it is 650w. It has been really silent but ever since I put it into my new Lian-Li V350 matx case its ever so loud. Would the OCZ Stealth Xtream 500W PSU be a good replacement. My spec is AMD AM2 2.4ghz, 2GB DRD2 RAM, 80GB and 250GB HDD. DVD-RW. TV Card and USB Card. ATI HD 4670. Would the 500W OCZ power this machine? Many Thanks to whoever helps.
The power supply unit in today's modern computer assumes a role probably more critical than any other single component in your system. A poor PSU can also cause other components to fail in your computer. The right Brand names = Quality Some approved Brand names follow... Seasonic - any model Corsair - any model Thermaltake - "Toughpower" series only Coolermaster - "Real Power Pro" series only PC Power & Cooling - any model Silverstone - any model Unless you are not into some serious gaming a 650 watt or higher will take care of your needs. If you are a serious gamer a 750 Watt, or a little higher will be all that you would need.
Hi. Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting a OCZ 500watt PSU and its really quiet and supporting my AMD AM 2.4, 2Gb RAM, ATI HD 4670. I found out my old CPU was 580w, it was an old Tagan Easycon but it was getting really noisy due to the internal thermometer.
