help with AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) OEM

Hello there. Ive recently bought an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) processor and want to install it. Unfortunately i have no spec with it so i am unsure has to what speed i need to set it at in BIOS or the jumper settings on the motherboard. By mobo is a Asus A8N-SLi Premium (Socket 939) PCI-Express. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
 
Ive just been searching around. Would i be right in thinking the X2 4400+ socket 939 is the toledo model with a clock rate of 2200 MHz? If so, would it be a matter of installing the chip and then entering BIOS and adjusting the clock speed to 2200 MHz?
 
Thanks. on a side note, would you say the X2 toledo 4400+ offered more performance over the AMD athlon 64 4000 san diego single core? On paper the the 4000 is faster and i was wondering if this would be a problem with gaming?
 
Definately, with AMD's clock speed usually doesn't mean much at all, with older intel products it did, not with newer core2s and the such.

if however you were comparing a 3800+ X2 vs a 4000+ single core, the 4000+ would only be better for things programmed to only utilize the one core, but on the other hand, multi core is the way forward, and overall the 3800+ X2 is a better investment.
 
So, do you feel the dual core X2 4400+ is better than the san diego 4000+ single core for my gaming needs?
 
YES Definitely, even in single core programs, not even mentioning how much you will benefit from multi CPU Utilising programs
