http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Hiper.html this is the hiper PSU's at overclockers this is where i was looking at them
lol, my motherboard is old, its an 865pe, yours is too. http://reviews.pimprig.com/power_supply/hiper_type-r_580w_psu_-_us_version.php?page=2 there is the review on my psu. 4 pins just clip off so you can have old style 20 pin (like me) read the review to find out about dual 12v rails, its not an atx 2 thing.
yea, but there dual 12v, so if it was all in one, it would be 38a wouldent it? 20a or 18a would be bad if it was a single 12v rail. but there is 2 there, so they dont get stressed as much. read the reviews, see what they all say about it.
the ONLY thing i see wrong with it is Poor UV reactive quality on Blue/Red cables and Too short of ATX connector lead, but it performs very well!
what do you mean, too short of atx connector lead, i thought there was too much. so is the hiper 580w-type-r a high end quality cpu?
well this is personal preference but id need a minimum 20inches so i can route the cables around the case, but 16 inches is enough! i think if they make more PUS's like that there will be some competition!
Yea, definately a high quality PSU. Dual rails are a stability/heat reduction feature. 2 15 volt rails produce far less heat than a single 30 volt rail. Then, as everyone knows, when the temperature is lower the power is cleaner making your system more stable.
there is loads of these power supplys selling on ebay, one claims that it is better than any other cpu like thermaltake and antec and other top brands. i cant really tell if it is super quiet at the moment becouse stock cpu cooler and cpu cooler on graphics card is really making my computer sound like a 747. the cables are not as uv reactive as i thought they would be, the red connectors are ok though, apparently they 120mm fan inside the psu is uv reactive, but it does not look it, i noticed that the 80mm fan is very quiet, when computer shuts down the 80mm fan is still on for about 2 mins, but i have noticed that it has a low rpm, a guy on some other forum who did a review of this power supply said that he was a little worried of the size of the heatsinks inside as they are a little too small, but then again the mesh sides will let alot of cool air through, only 1 pci-e connector, some psu's come with 2 now, so unless i can find an extension, i cant have sli (if i ever feel the need to upgrade the sli), at first i found connecting everyhitng up a little difficult as i have not seen any of those 2 way molex connectos before (male on one side, female on other), wow, i have never seen a power supply come in such a stunning box, that box was the first thing that made me want to buy that power supply, it had all the information on, and thats what made me think it was a high quality psu and lol, it is, i have never known a power supply come with a manual, someone else thought that the manual did not come with enougth info, i thought it came with plenty, as i said, i have never seen a power supply come with a manual, in the shop, the shop, i asked the shop asistant, is this a really good high quality psu, and he said, no it's just one thats made to look all fancy and tarted up, i must say, it goes very well with my case, everyhting in my case is blue exept for one fan and motherboard/graphics card, the psu looks even better with the blue polished chrome effect too. i think this power supply was made out of steel, and someone on a forum said, most are made out of aluminium, it was somthing like that, but i heard that they used somthing different to keep construction costs down.
