I recently installed a copy of XP on my computer, but the LAN port and the USB ports dont seem to be working. How do i find out what MoBo i have and what exact drivers i would need for my LAN port and USB?

Thanks

Scott:)

Wow! It worked! You were right, they were both disabled! Thank you so much! My Brother is over the moon, he has been without the net for weeks!

Many Thanks :) :D

How do i Enable them in BIOS?
right, when you turn your system on on the display there will be (probably) the BIOS / CMOS info then your system detects hard disk/s and other devices then at the bottom left of the screen (probably) it should say "press / hit <Del> to run setup",

setup is the BIOS setup, then using the cursor keys move the highlighted item the Integrated Peripherals and press <enter>[ot]your system may differ, you may need to press F1, F2, Fn+F1 and it may not say press <Del> to run setup[/ot]once in Integrated Peripherals look down the list for something like onboard USB (and enable it, there will also be an entry like USB Legacy - you dont need to enable this unless you want to use a USB keyboard

also in Integrated Peripherals will be something containing NIC (Network Interface Card) or LAN (Local Area Network) then when you've enabled them press <F10> then <y> then <enter> and your system should reboot

when XP boots it will then detect the exact drivers needed and install them

the USB & NIC should now be working[ot]these instructions will work on most systems but the BIOS is different in every system[/ot]
