I have had my laptop for two years with no problems but lately either the LED will go crazy and I'll be forced to manually turn it off or when I turn it off voluntarily, it will not reboot. The A indicator flashes and then the computer turns back off. Someone at dell told me I needed to replace the memory but will that fix my problem? How long is memory supposed to last? Is there something I can do to prolong the end of my memories life until I recieve the new memory in the mail?

what make/model laptop do you have?
what do you mean by LED? do you mean the LCD or screen? what do you mean by the A indicator?
when it starts to do the thing where you turn it on and it turns back off, does the laptop on the bottom feel HOT?
i don't think this is a memory issue. memory can outlast the life of the laptop or it can just go bad the next day.
its hard to gauge the life of memory but its unlikely to go bad so soon.
try to be more detailed when explaining what exactly happens and step by step.
