    Hi,
I am working with HyperTerminal in Windows and have been playing around with some of the settings. On one of the properties pages it has several settings:

    Baud: 9600
    Parity: No
    Bits: 8
    Stop Bits: 1
    Flow Control: None

I know what everything on the list is except plain "bits." I am wondering what that stands for in terms of HyperTerminal. Is it just the size of each data burst?
