I have a question that i never got an answer from anyone

my question cannot be even answered by the biggest computer and electronics expert-

MY QUESTION-my computer restarts when the power fluctuates.Why? i have a new ups...my PC is completely new..new power supply and etc..i burnt my previous PC by just restarting it suddenly like this.REMEMBER.....my PC restarts whenever the voltage fluctuates..but sometimes (sometimes) it don't get restarted...I am searching for this answer from the year 2004 but never found 1...HARDWARE FORUMS is my last hope...I HOPE SOME1 FROM THIS 40,000 HARDWARE FORUMS USERS may know this answer...

Well, it sounds more like an issue with the power line itself rather than the PC. Make sure the PC is plugged into the battery back up outlets on the UPS.

First off, if you've been searching since 2004, that would put your computer at 4 years old. Maybe something is wrong with the battery backup. Is it the power in your house fluctuating? Or the UPS?

Why would your voltage fluctuate? Sounds like a dodgy power connection, which would start the UPS for a while, but that will eventually run out, if it hasn't already.

BTW just out of interest, what voltages do other countries use? I know we have around 230V on a mains socket, and I believe the USA has about half that, but with a higher current.
 
What brand and model UPS do you have?
Have you installed the UPS software?
Is your computer communicating with the UPS software?
Have you properly configured the "what should I do if this happens" settings in the UPS software?
 
ok.here it is. i m going to buy a new PSU.a heatsink.and UPS.now can u recommend me of some good ups,psu and heatsink that's good and affordable.my budget is $100.don't laugh.lol
 
I'm sorry man, I don't think you are going to find any NEW PSU, Heatsink, UPS (combined) under 100 bucks that are worth your time. A PSU will run you $50, a heatsink $40 (approx) and UPS $70. These are average prices so add them together and they'll come up to more than 100. Sorry.
As far as a PSU, if you look real hard, you can usually get one on sale. I found a 500 watt over at circuit city one time for 19.99. Antecs are pretty good, that's what I have and never had any problems.
I'm not sure what the heatsink has to do with anything, since that is the metal block on top of the cpu and really has nothing to do with the PSU. If you want to replace it, go ahead, but I wouldn't unless there is something specifically wrong.
UPS systems are fairly expensive, most likely above $50. Shop on newegg, you might find one cheap.
Good luck. Let me know why you need a heatsink too.
 
A good 600-700W-ish unit isn't going to be much cheaper than $80, disregarding sales and rebates. Yes, there are cheaper units, but, as I'll continue to say, you don't want those units.
 
I don't know that he would need a 600-700 watt. His computer is from 2004, and unless he's upgraded, I don't think hardware from then would need more than 500watts.
