I plan on buying a new gaming rig

I wanted to upgrade my system, mainly for Crysis, so I chose a DirectX10 rig. Here's what I came up with:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
EVGA Nforce 680I LT SLI
2GB Corsair DDR2 800 RAM
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX

Is it a good buy?
I'm not sure about the power supply. I was thinking of about 750W.
And also, should I overclock my CPU? What kind of fan/cooling is necessary?

Not bad.
If you'll be leaving things at stock, the retail box heatsink will be more than adequate. Now, I'm assuming you're getting the retail box processor. If it's not the retail box version, something like the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro would be an excellent performer that's around $30 USD (might be more like $40 CAD).

Wattage isn't as important as a quality unit. I'd look at the Corsair 520HX for starters. If you think you'll pick up a second 8800 down the road, look at the 620HX. The Enermax Galaxy 850 is another idea, as well as the OCZ GameXStreme 700 or FSP Epsilon 700.

thats a good setup with something like that you would want a good case to go along with it to keep airflow etc at a maximum, as i have heard that the 8800 are very hot also with the 4 cores, i have been looking at cases resently and i think the antec 900 is very good as it comes with 4 fans + it look fantastic. try overclockers.
