Idiot seeks help setting up Bluetooth network

Hi there, my first time posting, although I've been reading for quite a while. I wonder if you could help me with an annoying problem.

I'm cringing as I type this because I feel a bit stupid. Ages ago my two sons set up a network for me using Bluetooth between my desktop and laptop computer. Worked without fault. Then I moved the desktop. Now the two computers won't recognise each other (very rude) and I don't have the slightest clue how to configure them. Both sons now live miles away and can't help, so I need to sort it out myself (argh!).

Hints, tips, suggestions to take up knitting instead, all welcome. I've searched the internet and can't find anything relating to 'setting up Bluetooth networks for complete idiots.'
 
Okay well the indoors range of bluetooth modules (i have bluetooth on my computer) can be 10m with clear line of sight, with walls and other objects in the way this can be much less, have you tried moving the computers back close to each other to see if it still works?
